As previously reported, 20 candidates’ National Physical Therapy Exam (NPTE) test results were invalidated last summer based on an extensive forensic analysis of the test performances of all candidates who sat for the NPTE between March 1, 2005 and June 5, 2007. Candidates whose scores were invalidated were offered an opportunity to re-take the NPTE at no cost. At this time, 12 candidates have retaken the NPTE; seven have failed and five have passed.
Candidates who fail the NPTE are allowed to register and pay for additional re-takes within the existing NPTE policy guidelines. Two of the candidates who failed re-took the exam; one passed and one failed.
