Cheating in the News: Pharmacist Licensure Exam Reinstated Effective October 5

Home-> News & Events -> Pharmacist Exam

The National Association of Boards of Pharmacy (NABP) announced that the North American Pharmacist Licensure Examination™ (NAPLEX®) program was reinstated in all Prometric testing centers, effective October 5, 2007. NABP cautiously estimates that reinstatement of the Georgia Multistate Pharmacy Jurisprudence Examination® (MPJE®) will occur in late November or early December.

Background: In our September News Brief, it was reported that the NAPB had suspended NAPLEX on August 25, 2007 because of allegations that a professor in Georgia was distributing copies of the test questions in his course materials for students studying to take the exam. NABP filed a lawsuit against the professor alleging that at least 150 of his review questions are verbatim, nearly verbatim or substantially similar. In addition to the national test, students in Georgia take a jurisprudence exam, which had also been suspended.
