FSBPT is a dynamic organization that promotes collaboration and teamwork between its various constituencies to ensure the best possible outcomes.
FSBPT is a member-driven organization comprised of fifty-three regulatory bodies charged with the regulation of physical therapy in their respective jurisdictions. Member boards have a variety of decision-making and support structures. The boards themselves typically include professionals and public members.
The Delegate Assembly is the body comprised of representatives from each member jurisdiction. The Delegate Assembly elects members of the board of directors, elects members of the nominating committee, and votes on motions related to physical therapy regulation. Additional information on the Delegate Assembly can be found in the FSBPT Bylaws.
The delegate assembly elects the board of directors, who represent the fifty-three member boards as a whole. On the board of directors, there will be current members of member boards, former members of member boards, administrators of member boards, and public members. Our public member position brings an important perspective to the board when it considers what is best for public protection. The board provides ongoing leadership to FSBPT through strategic planning and goal setting.
The delegate assembly and board of directors also elect or appoint members to committees and task forces. These volunteers take the initiative on various issues facing member boards and provide practical recommendations to the board of directors.
Staff members are guided by direction from the board of directors and policies approved by the delegate assembly. Staff members work hard to listen to the needs and recommendations of jurisdiction board members, as well as committee and task force members. One of the foundations of this dynamic organization is a real sense of teamwork between staff and FSBPT volunteers that motivates staff to excel and continually improve their service to the membership.
